"If you want to run, run a mile. If you want to experience a different life, run a marathon." - Emil Zatopek

Welcome to the Team Sam Bam Official Headquarters!

I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.

Keep checking back to monitor my fundraising progress, read my marathon blog, and much more! Thanks for your support!

Happy birthday Misouku! After a fun Saturday night out and a very gracious hangover, I went to my first Sunday training yesterday morning. 4 miles I guess isn't THAT much, but was completely unprecendented in my book. I think the most I've run is 3 miles. But it's not so bad when you're running with fun people. There have got to be 80 people with West LA TNT, which is super motivating.

I also got my official jersey! Holla! I'll have to post a picture of it or something.

Team Sam Bam is growing, thank you so much!
If you didn't know already, I sing in the best band ever in life, DDL Roundhouse. Not only are my 7 bandmates sexy and talented gentlemen, they are also super generous. DDL Roundhouse is hosting an event to fundraise for the marathon. I hope you can make it! Please check myspace.com/ddlroundhouse for all the details!

Greetings Team Sam Bam members, and happy Daylight Savings, my favorite time of year. Lots of progress in the past few weeks. Team Sam Bam has 38 members already, and we've raised about $1,800 for a cure for cancer. I have got to tell you that the training is getting harder and harder. This weekend we're running 10 miles, and it is no joke dude. But with 38 people/organizations invested in me, you can bet your ass I keep going!

Another motivator: AID STATIONS. It's a table set up with water, assorted candy, and my personal favorites, M&M's and sourdough pretzels. So what you do is take a bite of pretzel with 2 M&M's, and voila! You have a chocolate covered pretzel treat in the middle of a long and laborious morning jog.

I know there's a larger cause to run for right now, but KEEP IT REAL, when you're tired and hungry and delirious from the previous night's debauchery, it's the little M&M's and starbursts that take over my mind.

IF HE CAN DO IT, SO CAN I. This guy is training for the London marathon on April 13, reports BBC. He is 101 years old. He is more than 4 times my age!!! I feel so lazy!

AAAHH!!! The marathon is just around the corner. 2 weeks away, in fact. The months between February and June have been flying by. I've exceeded my fundraising goal, and have a 20 mile run under my belt. I can't believe I've come this far. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SUPPORTED ME UP TO THIS POINT!!!

I'm getting excited about the race now, lately I've been studying the course map. The mapped out course looks pretty daunting, but hopefully I'll make it across that finish line intact! Rock n' Roll marathon here I come, baby!
