Happy DONATING and remember that you are HELPING SAVE LIVES by giving so that patients can get treatment, care, and medications. You are also helping to support the on-going research for a cure!
Please feel good in yourself as by donating you have done something great today and made a difference in the lives of many who are courageously battling these blood cancers. You have also helped enrich my spirit in the power of human encouragement and kindness. Thanks Tons everyone!
I’m running the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco (YIKES, those hills!) on October 21st, 2007. That’s 26.2 long miles! I have committed to doing a Team in Training Marathon that raises money for Leukemia and Lymphoma research, medicine, and patient care. I also run for the estimated 785,829 people living with Blood Cancers (Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and Myeloma) in the United States alone.
UPDATES and Some of My Story of WHY I’m RUNNING…
It’s always been a goal of mine to do a marathon and about 2 years ago, because of a possible diagnosis, I wasn't sure what my future might be or if I'd ever be able to accomplish this goal. THANKFULLY, I was NOT diagnosed with Lymphoma in the end and I feel SO completely blessed. So many people, however, are not blessed with the same outcome, but my motivation is that we can help these courageous fighters and I hope that you can help me, help them!
For all those asking and wondering, thank you so much for all your concerns and encouragement!
My ankle is healing and while I haven't been able to train the last few weeks, I'm excited to say that I will begin my training again, in the pool at least, this next week or 2. So for sure I'm very excited and confident that I will be running The Nike Women's Marathon on October 21st in San Francisco! YIPPY!
We are at mile 16 in our training, although I am at 14 due to my injury. I have to say that running that 14 mile run was SO hard, one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but I felt so great when I got through with it. There are just times when you think you CAN’T do it, that there's just no way, but then you do. WOW! Its nothing however compared to the physical and emotional pain a cancer patient must go through, so I’m really feeling blessed that I’m able to be a part of this.
I want to thank everyone that has donated to help support me in my fundraising already. I have raised around $1,700 for LLS so far. I definitely still need a lot of help to reach my goal of $3,000.
Consider donating a dollar or more for every mile I’m running, that’s $26 dollars or so! Also…what an impact your giving has on the much larger team total as we are trying to raise $300K for 3 research grants.
