Welcome to CC's Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers.
As a child I've grown up in family that has had many cases of cancer. My cousin has had hodgkins since he was 18 yrs old, he is now 55. He's a great person with a good heart. He's one of the lucky ones that had a successful treatment. My grandfather had prostate cancer& my cousin had leukemia and both have been in remission for several years now with the grace of god. My grandmother on the other hand, whom raised me as a child passed when I was 13. She had lung cancer though she was not a smoker. God bless her soul. All of these people have played a major role in my life. I love each one of them with all my heart. They're my inspirations. Last month I found out my old boss has lymphoma. This guy was my ray of light everyday I walked into Caliente. Phil was quite tough on the employees but he and I saw eye to eye, we had similar work ethics. I respect him. I pray for him. I wish that there was already a cure available so that those I love would be cured. I wish that a cure was available for all of the people that are battling these diseases. I am doing this marathon to honor them. I know time is valuable, but I am willing to give up some of mine to help raise money for this worthy cause. It is the people that we do this for that are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
