Emily Chung's Tri Training for a Cause
Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training page!
I am training to participate in the King's Trail Triathlon (an Olympic distance event involving a swim, bike ride AND run in Maui on June 10, 2007) as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT). All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event for all the incredible individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
People close to me have lost loved ones to blood cancers. I've been touched by the experiences of those I care about and am driven to make a difference to prevent this from happening to others. In particular, I am training in honor of Matthew Terry, a friend's younger brother who fought against Hodgkin's for several years and sadly lost. Each training session is in honor of those who fight now and have fought before.
Join me in my fight to save lives. Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission. I am grateful for donations of any size, but please dig deep and donate as much as you can spare. Just a few who donate over $100 will help me reach my goal that much faster! Be assured that 75% of your donation goes directly to research and patient aid. There are also opportunities for in-kind donations or corporate sponsorships. Contact me directly if you are interested. And remember, your donation is 100% tax deductable! You may also want to see if your company offers matching donations to double your efforts!
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
