Well I met my initial goal of $4700! Wow! Thank you all for your very generous support. I cannot tell you thank you enough. I would like to share a conversation that a fellow teammate and I had last weekend during our 12 mile run. She asked me how my fundraising was coming along. I felt really proud in telling her that I was done , that I had met my goal of $4700. Her response back to me was “actually you are never done. We could always use more help”. And she is EXACTLY right. Her daughter – Kate – is my honored hero. Kate is five years old and currently battling leukemia. Honestly our conversation put things in a different perspective for me for several reasons. I will continue to raise money for this fight for as long as I can. My new goal is $7,500. Thank you for your support. Remember no donation is too large or too small. Every dollar counts!
In case you have never visited my site before I am training as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training. All of us on the team are raising funds to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins lymphoma, and myeloma. When I discovered that there were millions of people that needed my help, and that I could make a difference, I was 100% committed to this marathon. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling these blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funds research efforts, while advocating for the discovery of a cure. Thanks to the funds being raised by TNT, several new treatments have been discovered that greatly increase cure rates, and remission duration for patients with Leukemia and Lymphoma. Every day they are getting closer to finding a cure!
