Racing to Save Lives One Mile at a Time

with teammates...Larry and Curly (Tricia and Wendy)

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. In June, I will be running a 1/2 marathon in Alaska in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. One in particular is my aunt, who has leukemia. She and other cancer patients...as well as survivors...are the real heroes. I am simply a reformed couch potato from a cardiovascular standpoint, with a desire to contribute. Before I began training recently, a few flights of stairs left me winded! My first two-mile training session took 32 minutes--4X that of Roger Bannister!!! However, I am comitted to both the training and fundraising. We need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Here's an update as of 4/24/06...all in all training and fundraising are going well. My teammates and I have raised some money...thanks to many generous people out there...and have ideas in the works to raise more!!! At times everything seems to be progressing a little too slowly with deadlines fast approaching. However-we'll get there!!! As far as training is concerned, I ran 8 miles in the rain with our Philly group two days ago, and found it to be somewhat enjoyable! I was pretty blown away at the progress I've made over the last 12 weeks. I am feeling okay about the Philadelphia 10-mile "Broadstreet Run" on May 7th. Most of our Philly team is registered for this race to help us to get over some of the jitters starting to set in over Alaska. This will be my first official race. I am looking forward to getting it over with =) Please keep me in your thoughts!

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.

I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
