Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to the one website that might just make you feel better about yourself and improve the lives of others. Wait it gets even better! This feeling of self satisfaction doesn't come from chanting some inspirational phrase or from developing abs in 7 minutes a day. The satisfaction I am talking about is going to bed and knowing that you did something great, something that will change a person's life forever. I know what you're thinking, how is Bill McAndrew going to help me feel better when I go to sleep? Simple. I am offering you the opportunity to join a triathlon team that is training to find a cure for Leukemia. Stop, sit back down. You don't need to swim, bike or run. As part of my team I will do the physical part but everyone is welcome to join me when they can. What I am asking for is support. Some people already know I am part of Team in Training, a program run by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. As part of the team we need your support whether it be monetary, emotional, or physical. Every 5 minutes someone is newly diagnosed with a blood cancer, then treatment begins. Some people like my cousin Nick are lucky are go into remission. Others, like our team hero Adam have longer battles to wage. Adam described treatment for Lymphoma as "taking poison 24/7." Please help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 this year. Remember no donation is too small, and check back to see our progress. Also, direct your friends and family to this site as well. Where else can you do something that gives you a sense of pride while hearing about some whacky guy planning to swim a mile, bike 25 miles then run 7 miles.
