Those of you who know me probably think I am crazy, BUT I am doing it again! That's right I have signed up for yet another 1/2 marathon. I am training to participate in Maui Marathon on September 16th as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on TNT are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of Denver Jackson, and Mackenzie J. Denver and I have been penpals for several years now. He has (ALL) Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. He is one of the bravest children I have ever seen. I am also running in honor of 4 year old Mackenzie. Mackenzie has ALL too.To me Denver , Mackenzie and everyone who suffers from this disease are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
I had a choice to sign up for this marathon, but Denver and Mackenzie didn't have a choice. Please help me honor them by making a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.

***UPDATE*** Please keep Mackenzie in your thoughts and prayers. She is 4 years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 15 months. Mackenzie is currently hospitalized and fighting for her life. I have just registered with the National Bone Marrow registry in hopes that I can be a donor for Mackenzie or a child like her that is in need of a life saving bone marrow transplant.
*****************UPDATE 5/11/07************ GREAT NEWS!! Mackenzie has been approved for bone marrow transplant and will receive her transplant on May 15th! Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers as they begin their journey to remission.
*********Update************** Great news Mackenzie is now resting comfortably at an apartment just outside the hospital her bone marrow transplant is working and although she has to make many trips to the hospital for test before she can return to her actual home she is recovering!! Please keep Pushing and Pulling for her and pray for her organs to withstand all the tratments she is going thru.
FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR!! I am happy to announce that despite all the negativity about me making this event happen... IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!! I have managed to connect with all the right people and we will be having the COUNTRY MUSIC FOR A CURE benefits concert on August 29th in Nashville at the Cadillac Ranch. It's been alot of hard work and frustration getting there but I figure it's not even close to all these kids have faced and it's well worth it to know that I am helping to fund the continued search for a cure.
