Doing it again..and Chris is joining in too!

Nicole after finishing the DIsney Marathon Jan. 2007

On June 4th, 2006 Nicole compled her first ever marathon. Yup, a full 26.2 miles in San Diego at the Rock and Roll Marathon followed by a half marathon in November of 2006 and the Disney Full Marathon in January 2007. She’s back again and dragging Chris with her to TRI something different…the Disney Triathlon in September.

We are doing all of this with the help of Team in Training which is part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Their mission is to find a cure for blood cancers and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. AT LEAST 75% of all the money we raise will go directly to fund their mission (75% of the first $5,000 and 100% of anything after that!!!!) To learn more about TNT, visit them at www.teamintraining.org

We are doing this in honor of some of the bravest people we know; all of those who battle cancer on a daily basis. These are the true heros!

Nicole’s dad was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma and he has shown us what incredible faith and bravery looks like and has been a great roll model for us all.

Then, in November of 2004 Nicole’s stepbrother, Carl, was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. Before going into remission, he showed real courage in the face of true adversity at a young age.

Finally, We are also doing this in honor of Alex, a young boy in Titusville, Florida who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblast Leukemia. Alex is now in remission and is an honorary coach for Brevard’s TNT group that we are training with.

Our fundraising goal is $5,000 and with your help we can accomplish this.

$1000 Could help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fund a researcher to find a cure

$ 500 Could provide patient aid to a person with cancer for one year

$ 100 Could provide a patient with transportation for traveling from home to a cancer center

$ 75 Could provide bone marrow typing for a family member of a patient with leukemia

$ 50 Could register a person to be a bone marrow donor

$ 25 Could pay the cost of a patient’s chemotherapy drug prescription co-payment

Of course, donations in ANY amount are greatly appreciated so please donate whatever you are comfortable with.

Please let us know if you would like to see YOUR company logo on the back of our jerseys on race day by becoming a corporate sponsor!

MONDAY MAY 14

Today was to be the first swim training. We drove all the way to Palm Bay! Andrea was there with the swim coach and the other participants so we got to meet our teammates but we got rained out of the pool after only a 100yd kick warm up. Guess we are on our own until next Monday!

Monday , May 22

We had our second official swim training but our first true practice. One hour of flashbacks from High School! Kickboards, pull bouys, and drills. Chris couldn't make it due to work so he has to make it up on his own at the gym! Still no donations other than the $100 we put in but I'm hoping they will start soon!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Brevard Team in Training Tri Team after our first bike/run training ~~~~>>

We have some SORE tailbones after our first bike/run training. Considering we had the heaviest bikes with the smallest tires, we did at least twice the work of everyone else on real road bikes! But we both made the full 10 mile bike and 1 mile follow up run. Boy is it strange to start running after biking so far...Jelly Legs!! After a stop to Revolutions (bike shop) to look at road bikes and padded shorts, we have decided this is an expencive sport! We are going to look into possibly getting slightly used road bikes if they can be found to fit us. Angela gets the "1st donation" award! YAY Thank You Angela!!

June 7

We have added a new hero to our board. On Tuesday, June 4th Nancy White, the mother of a close friend of ours, lost her 4 yr. battle with peritineal cancer. Heather and her family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Tuesday, June 19th
