Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I am training to participate in the Mayor's Marathon in Anchorage, AK as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I started out looking for a way to train for a marathon. Then as I thought about how this experience would also help with fundraising for such an important cause, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling cancer in all forms and to honor those who did not win their battle. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

This past Saturday I ran 10 miles--we're tapering back down in preparation for the marathon. It's amazing that it doesn't seem like that far any more. It was still tough, though since I am still having some weird hip joint problems. However, the fact that I was able to make it and felt like I could keep going bodes well. Its hard to believe that the marathon is 2 weeks. (yikes!) I've made it this far because wonderful people (like you) have contributed to this cause and given me the moral support to believe I can do this.
