Jennifer Graham Metcalf's Fundraising Page
One step at a time to a cure
Wow, there are so few words to adequately describe my experience in San Francisco. A huge final THANK-YOU to everyone who supported me in this adventure, it has been amazing!
I could babble on for pages but the best summary is by the numbers:
18.5 Million Dollars – Amount raised for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
+$310, 000 – Amount our group from Calgary raised.
$5,805 – My final fundraising total.
21.1 km – How far I ran.
2 hours and 55 minutes – How long it took me.
23,000 – How many participants there were.
900 – How many boys braved the “Women’s” marathon
Zero – the number of dry eyes left at the end of the week-end!
Thank-you again and stay tuned for my next adventure!

Have you ever put money in someone’s expired meter? Have you ever returned a lost wallet? Have you ever done a good deed without the recipient being able to thank-you because they don’t know your name? That is what fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is like for me. I get to convince people like you to make do with only my thanks for the good deed you are doing. The angels you are helping with your donation will never know you’re name but they will know that someone took the time to care about them. Let’s put some money in their life meters and make a difference!
I am training to participate in The Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco October 21, 2007 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. Team In Training began in 1988 and since then there have been 320,000 participants who have raised over $750 million dollars.
Leukemia is the most common childhood cancer, and the leading cause of death in children from disease. Since becoming a mother last year, I’ve become much more aware of the trials that some special children face. I’ve been to the Children’s Hospital and have been able to sigh with relief at the results. Not everyone has this privilege. There are always families in the hospital hoping for a miracle, a cure, another day.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
