A Second Chance at Life

After being hit in the head during a back yard baseball game, Timmy Hatch suffered a hematoma to the brain and fell into a coma. With all Doctors giving Timmy no life expectancy, only 1 year later, Timmy has already proved them all wrong.

Timmy Hatch is a loving husband, son, brother and friend as well as an amazing father to his son, who will be turning 3 in September.

At this point, Timmy is conscious and able to communicate by looking at “yes” and “no” flash cards. He has some control over his hands, head, neck and mouth but most importantly is his memory. Timmy still gets happy when the Giants are on or when he gets to watch his son or niece and nephews.

Since the removal of his trach, you can even hear traces of Timmy’s voice when he chuckles. He hasn’t been able to speak yet, however we have high hopes that it is only a matter of time.

Timmy's family has been in contact with Dr. Philip De Fina from the International Brain Research Foundation in New Jersey, and are currently raising $100,000 for him to treat Timmy. De Fina has an 85% success rate when the national rate is 4%.

Timmy's family is determined to give him any chance they can at getting his life back. Anything helps!

Thank you
