| Injury is the LEADING cause of death and disability among children, teens and young adults. Most are caused by vehicle crashes, violence, falls, sports. The most serious injuries are those to the brain and spinal cord which can lead to permanent paralysis and disabling brain injuries. The only "cure" is to prevent these injuries from happening in the first place.
The good news - most injuries can be prevented by learning to make safe choices. The mission of theThinkFirst National Injury Foundation is to reduce injuries through education, research and policy. Last year ThinkFirst provided 8,000 presentations to 450,000 students and families. We invite you to join ThinkFirst as a Partner in Injury Prevention. -- help us teach all kids to Think First!
