Texas Center for the Missing - Racing for the Amber Alert

Running to offer help, and hope, to the missing and their families.

Texas Center for the Missing (www.thetexascenter.org) is headquartered in Houston and serves the 13 counties in and around the greater Houston Metropolitan Area. Since 2000, we have served over 90,000 children and families by offering prevention, recovery, and reunification services related to child abductions, runaways, and internet lures. We need your help!!!

In preparation for the coming year, the Center needs to replenish its reserves of Child ID kits. For every dollar donated, we are able to provide safety information and child identification resources for one child. That’s right! One dollar equals one child protected. As the administrating agency of the Houston Regional Amber Alert, we are at the ready to activate community resources to get a missing child home quickly and safely. Most people are unaware that there are no local, state, or federal monies dedicated to our local Amber Alert program. It is purely voluntary and relies entirely on private contributions.
