About Vibha...
Vibha is a US based non-profit, non-religious, non-political volunteer organization that seeks to restore the promise of a future to underprivileged children by providing them access to education, healthcare, shelter and nourishment.
In the US, Vibha volunteers raise awareness and resources to support child development initiatives in India and the US.
Vibha's mission is to "educate, empower and enable every individual who wishes to make a positive difference in the life of an underprivileged child".
About the Dream Mile 5K...
The Dream Mile is Vibha's annual fund-raising event.Every year hundreds of Austin-ites get together and run/walk for this cause.
This is Vibha's 9th Dream Mile in Austin, and it will be held on Nov 15, 2009.
As a Vibha volunteer, I am involved in event organization and fund collection.
The objective is not just to collect funds, but also make people aware of the plight of children in various parts of India, and what they can do to help these children.
So come join Me as I support Vibha and
Help Realize A DREAM Today!
- $120 can give quality education to a child for a whole year
- $50 can facilitate the rehabilitation of a severely mentally handicapped child for a year
- $40 can sponsor the non-formal education of a child for a whole year.
- $35 can keep a child safe from many fatal diseases by providing him/her complete immunizations for a year.
- $30 can provide a child with all the educational materials he/she needs for a year.
*All figures are based on the annual budgets of various projects funded by Vibha
