It is Monday morning and you are walking to work. You notice a toddler playing near a pond. As you are about to walk past, he falls into the pond and is about to be drowned. What do you do?
Do you jump in and save the child even though you will be late for work?
OR
Do you keep on walking expecting someone else to save the child?
For pretty much all of us it is a simple decision. We jump in and save the child. Our clothes, shoes, work and all else takes second place.
If such a choice is so simple, why do we choose to ignore the millions of children drowning in hunger, poverty and illiteracy?
Is it a case of "Out of sight, Out of mind"?
