| As a 2011 Tillman Military Scholar and current medical student at Duke University, I can personally attest to the educational support that the Pat Tillman Foundation provides our country's veterans and their families. The Tillman Military Scholars scholarship program aids all veterans and specifically the ever-growing population of veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts and their families. To date, 171 Tillman Military Scholars have been awarded over 2.2 million dollars in scholarship support. Pat’s Run is the signature fundraising event for the Pat Tillman Foundation. Held annually in April at Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Stadium, the event attracts over 35,000 participants, volunteers and spectators from across the country. With proceeds from Team Tillman and through generous support from individuals, corporations and organizations throughout the country, the Pat Tillman Foundation strives to increase the scholarship funds awarded nationally each year to Tillman Military Scholars to $3.6 million, representing the NFL contract Pat walked away from when he enlisted in the U.S. Army. With your help, we'll be coming even closer to hitting that goal. The 2011 Class of Tillman Military Scholars will be awarded $916,000 in scholarship support. In addition to this year’s awards, the Pat Tillman Foundation previously committed $642,000 and $709,000 to the first and second classes of Tillman Military Scholars, respectively. In total, over $2.2 million has been awarded to 171 Tillman Military Scholars. Whether you choose to donate $25, $42, $50, or $100 - your donation is appreciated and makes a difference to the veterans and students who you support. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this very important effort to support the service men and women like Pat who have dedicated their lives to protecting ours. Please note, the Pat Tillman Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all donations are tax deductible.
