| Welcome to the "Team Thomas" fundraising page! Thank you for visiting and donating to this special event. On October 17th, runners will join together at the IMT Des Moines Marathon to run the Marathon (26.2 mi), Half Marathon (13.1 mi), 5K (3.1 mi), or 5-Person Relay (5.24 mi/person) in remembrance of Coach Ed Thomas.
Due to the generosity of so many last year, Team Thomas was able to raise an astounding $20,000! Our efforts have assisted the Ed Thomas Family Foundation in contributing to the following:
$10,000 - Stephanie Spielman Patient Assistance Fund which supports cancer patient's families. $10,000 - First Congregational Church of Parkersburg supported two local families in their work to establish orphanages in Guatemala. Personalized Bibles were given to local Aplington-Parkersburg youth.
$10,000 - AP High School Football Field and Facilities Maintenance. $5,000 - Donated to Koninia Church Camp in Parkersburg. $5,000 - Parkersburg Pool Renovation Fund. $1,000 - Given to NICL High School FB programs/weightrooms. A total of $15,000 was given back to schools in the NICL Conference. Three scholarships were awarded to both female and male graduates from AP. Lastly, we understand that some of you may not be in the position to donate. If so, we would be grateful for your prayers as we strive to find 100 runners/walkers to join our team and continue the legacy of Coach Ed Thomas. God Bless!
