Welcome to the "Team Thomas" fundraising page. Thank you for visiting and donating to this special event. On October 18th, 30 runners will join together to run in either the 5K, Half Marathon, 5-Person Relay, or the Marathon in Des Moines! "Team Thomas" will be participating in remembrance of Coach Thomas and all proceeds will go to the Ed Thomas Family Foundation.
Our gratitude goes out to the fundraisers and donors who have allowed us to achieve our original $10,000 goal! Due to a very generous response from all of you we have doubled our goal to $20,000! In addition, one runner will be running the marathon twice if Team Thomas reaches their goal, a total of 52.4 miles!
A BIG THANK YOU goes out to our $1,000 corporate sponsors who have been very generous. Prairie Land Cooperative and Iowa Sports Supply will be sponsoring the shirts for our team and Go-Hawk Graphics located in Waverly will be donating the printing and cost associated with that. These businesses deserve a huge thank you as the shirts w/ printing is equal to greater than a $1,000 donation. In addition, Rock On Cards has donated $1,000 of thank you cards to our runners so they can send you their appreciation at the completion of the marathon! Lastly, Alba Restaurant in Des Moines will be hosting Team Thomas's pre-race dinner on Saturday! Owner and Chef Jason Simon will not only be sponsoring our meal that is valued over $1,000, he will be the chef!
