| "The Work We do Today Builds a Better Tomorrow" |
|
| I have been so impressed by the generosity of Ponte and am excited to join their race team. Their generosity helps the at-risk and special needs youth of Oak Grove who have many challenges but are also amazing survivors! We are raising funds to help kids that do not have families and need extra support as well as for those that are less fortunate and need help with end of the year activities. We are also racing to help the new autism classrooms with supplies and communication devices AND the kids in general as we add 2 sports court on our lower field at Oak Grove. We have seen so many lives transformed, we applaud the hard work and effort that our students are putting into turning their lives around and want to help cheer them on! The mission of Oak Grove is "to rebuild the lives of at-risk children and their families through educating, healing, restoring relationships, building character and instilling hope". We believe that the work we do today builds a better tomorrow...and the Ponte Race is helping us meet that goal! Thank you for supporting this race and the kids at Oak Grove Center! |
| Oak Grove Center is a nonprofit educational and residential center, serving 200 children on two campuses. Oak Grove serves at-risk and special needs children and youth who have emotional and behavioral difficulties, many suffer from physical and/or sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, or other traumas. We provide special education, vocational and therapeutic services to students (K-12) in a comprehensive program which includes individual, group and family therapy. We expanded our autism services this past year which further fulfills our mission by providing education and treatment to an additional at-risk group desperately in need of care. |
