(Team McGraw is happy to have Tom as a runner for both the 2008 New York City Marathon and the 2008 Philadelphia Distance Run.)
I am proud to be a member of Team McGraw for the 2008 New York City Marathon.
I am running on behalf of Mary Karpowich. In 2006, Mary, age 44, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She has had two operations, as well as other treatments, but the tumor is too big for Mary to ever be disease-free. Her condition has stabilized, but she must deal with the effects of her illness each day.
The Tug McGraw Foundation’s mission of improving the quality of life for patients and caregivers has already provided emotional support for Mary and her family, and I expect it to continue to do so through their research grants and raising awareness of the disease. I have met a few of the executives of the Foundation and have seen firsthand their passion and commitment to fulfill their mission.
I am convinced that Tug McGraw’s spirit, through his Foundation, will continue to positively impact many patients and caregivers well into the future. |
