Since my husband, Kevin, first began coaching for Team McGraw, I’ve had a growing interest in joining him at one of their races. I’ve heard such inspiring stories from him about the runners he’s coached, the obstacles they’ve overcome, and the spirit with which those that might never have run a marathon on their own…find the strength to run one…for someone else.
So this year, I join Team McGraw for the first time in New York City. A great race for a great reason. Beautiful.
I am also privileged to run on behalf of Jimmy McKeon. Jimmy is a thrilling survivor of a brain tumor, and he honors me as we partner for the New York City Marathon 2008.
Kevin and I are the parents of two children, and I know the lengths to which I would go to fight on behalf of them, against anything, anyone, that would dare to try to hurt them. In this race, I will celebrate Jimmy, drawing from his inspired spirit and strength to support the Tug McGraw Foundation and their work to combat brain tumors and support cutting-edge research.
Thanks to all of you for donating and supporting my campaign to use this marathon in support of their mission.
Ya gotta believe…
