Runner: Glen McDevitt

Inspiring Wife: Jenny McDevitt

My name is Glen McDevitt and I am from Palatine, IL. I am also the husband of the most courageous and inspiring woman you will ever meet.

Her name is Jenny McDevitt...and she is a brain tumor survivor.

I am a returning runner for Team McGraw with our first team in the Chicago Marathon and, as in marathons before, I will again be running for her.

When Jenny decided to run her first of three marathons in 2004 after having her first brain surgery to remove a malignant tumor, I thought to myself that there was no way she could possibly do this. I watched her train and was in amazement of what she could accomplish while undergoing chemotherapy.

When she was through, I was so proud and for the first time thought that she was going to beat this awful disease. I decided from that day on that I was going to run every race with her so I could support her every step of the way.

Last year, we ran the NYC Marathon together with Team McGraw, and 8 days later we discovered her tumor had returned. She had surgery to remove the tumor at Duke..

...and is ready to run again! Ya Gotta Believe!
