I am proud to be participating in the 2008 Country Music Marathon and 1/2 Marathon as a member of Team McGraw for the Tug McGraw Foundation.
This is the first time for our runners to join together in Nashville and help raise awareness of our mission to improve the quality of life for those patients and caregivers confronted with brain tumors. As a part of Team McGraw, I will tie on the shoes to both share our message and offer fundraising support in this effort.
As I have before, I again will run on behalf of a friend and fellow musician, Jeannie Kauffman, who I met while out on the concert trail with Tim McGraw. Jeannie, her partner Jen Ringler, and I got acquainted over burgers at a diner in Los Angeles. Afterwards, she shared her spirit with me singing “All In For a Cure,” an original composition inspired by her own personal journey.
She sang her heart out, right there in the restaurant, free and vibrant…a shining example of hope and perseverance.
Jeannie's gone now - (read "Sing On, Jeannie" as posted in my blog) - but on behalf of her and so many others that share her struggle, thank you for your donation and support for the Tug McGraw Foundation. |
