On May 2nd and 3rd, 2009, Team Catoctin Land Trust will be participating in the Frederick Running Festival as a fundraiser to support the land preservation programs of the Catoctin Land Trust (the CLT).
It is the mission of the CLT to preserve and protect the rural landscape and cultural history of the Blue Ridge and Piedmont regions of Central Maryland, Northern Virginia, Northern West Virginia and Southern Pennsylvania. Since it's founding in 2000, the CLT has permanently protected over 2180 acres of land thru 20 different conservation easements. In an area that is rapidly developing as a main bedroom community for DC and Baltimore, the work of the CLT in preserving what remains of our open spaces, our forests, our family farms and our heritage has never been more important.
