| Welcome and thank you for visiting AIU's FUNdraising page. Alliant's Irvine campus is raising money for Corazon De Vida, a foundation that supports over 18 orphanages in TJ and Baja California in honor of Alliant Makes a Difference Day (AMDD).
We will be visiting Hacienda on November 1st.
Make a Difference Day is officially October 25th. The goal of AMDD is to make a difference in our communities by engaging students, faculty, staff, administrators, & alumni/ae in community-service learning projects that expand our understanding of the needs of the populations with whom we work, play, & live.
National Make a Difference Day, which is an annual event, now in its 18th year, that is sponsored by USA Weekend Magazine. It's a national effort to make a difference in the world.
Please help AIU raise money for Corazon De Vida & help the children of Baja and TJ. The money donated goes to CDV & pays for the upkeep of the orphanages, food, doctors, clothes...here is some history of one of the orphanages we would be helping...
Jorge and Carmen Gonzales started this home in the Matamoras region of east Tijuana when they sold their home to buy land and start the orphanage four years ago. They have between 90 and 100 children, most of whom Carmen takes from the streets, which are referred by DIF, or that are dropped off by families. They have a Christian focus, since Jorge is a pastor of a local church. They are in need of $20,000 more per year to support staff (3 workers care for 14 babies), educational needs, and job skills training for teens.
