| Hi all! Thanks for visiting my page. On October 10, 2010, I will be running my first ever full marathon, the Chicago Marathon. I know, FINALLY a full marathon (you all knew I would do it someday). I have decided to run my marathon for a charity.....the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. I figure if I'm going to run that far, I might as well do something good with it!! Plus, i'm sure it will be excellent motivation at about mile 24. A little bit about BEAR.....The Foundation's goal is to eliminate pediatric cancer and to provide hope and support to those who are touched by it. Barrett 'Bear' Krupa was a Wilm's Tumor patient who eventually succumbed to the disease. While undergoing treatment, 'Bear' and his family witnessed firsthand the needs of other patients and their families, understood the need for additional support services within pediatric oncology facilities and became keenly aware of the need for research in the field of pediatric cancer. His mission continues today, even after his death. For more information about the foundation, please visit http://www.bearnecessities.org
It is my goal to raise money for his cause through my running, and also to inspire others with hope, faith, and perseverence. I am running for a little girl named Chloe. She is two years old and is fighting a battle with Neuroblastoma. Please keep her in your prayers! Thank you to all of you for your support, your love, and your prayers. Thank you for running alongside me, literally and figuratively (I'll be hitting you up for that soon, you lucky training partners know who you are)! You can keep track of my training progress on my blog page http://susihupp.blogspot.com/ Please leave me some words of encouragement!! And if you ever have the desire to come run with me, let me know; I'm always open to company. :) |
