| As many of you know, I have battled Crohn's Disease for most of my life. I am so excited that finally there is a fundraising effort to try and find, if not a cure, better treatment options for patients. After multiple surgeries, too many hospitalizations to count, thousands of dollars in medical bills and numerous hours spent hooked to IV drips, I had to face a worst case scenerio surgery as none of the multiple treatments I had been receiving could get my disease into remission. I hear often now of others who are forced to face the same difficult decisions I had to as a result of the lack of treatment options. Every dollar donated to this walk will go to finding a cure for, or better treatments for, this disease. I face continued weekly hospital visits for iron therapy and complications from ever having this disease, and know there is a large liklihood that it will recur for me. Over one million others are fighting the same battle I do. Anything you can contribute will be meaningful. Please forward this site to everyone you know, not only for donations but also to raise awareness of the disease itself. Thank you for your support in fighting this terrible disease. |

Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis is the nation’s largest event dedicated to finding cures for digestive diseases. Not only am I participating in this event, but I am raising money for crucial research that wouldn’t even have been possible a few short years ago.
More than 1.4 million patients across the country suffer from these painful and unpredictable diseases. Beyond raising money for research, Take Steps brings together the community in a fun and energetic atmosphere. Participants are encouraged to make noise and be heard -- raising awareness of these little-known diseases in their community and across the nation.
