| Let me start off by saying I am really excited about this. I have teamed up with Crohn's
and Colitis Foundation Los Angeles Chapter, to bring a 2 Mile Crohn's Walk to Visalia, called
“Visalia’s Taken Steps”. I hope this walk will unit local families and friends living with Crohn's.
I have found over the past five years since I was diagnosed, that there are more people then I
ever imagined effected by Crohn's and or Colitis. I am very fortunate to have a huge support system. After being diagnosed, I had my siblings tested. One of my sisters also has the disease. We also have a cousin living with it. So it is a big part of my family. With 2 boys, I fear that they one day, too will have to suffer with Crohn's. As of now, they both are showing no signs. Awareness will play a huge roll in their futures. We now, know what to look for and know where to go for help. I am very BLESSED.
As for the walk, it is a 2 mile walk for all ages. We will do the walk and spend the remaining time celebrating life. As most of you know, I am a person that is terrible about asking for help. So here it goes. On July 12, 2008 at 9:00A.M., I will be putting on a walk at the
Groppetti Visalia Community Stadium. I am asking for your help. Those that are interested can, join my team, make a donation and/or get their own team together for the walk. The day of the walk, we will be collecting Aluminum cans and Plastic drinking containers for recycling. This will help with the cost of all the fun Activities of the day. Please help me show everyone that Tulare County is
taking steps to get awareness out there and help find a cure for Crohn's and Colitis.

3.) To put together your own team and join us for the walk, Register at: www.cctakesteps.org. Sign up as if doing the LA Walk June 22. When you register your team name, please put Visalia in front of it. Example: Visalia – “Bryson Cancer Care". This will let the LA Chapter be able to keep track of our Visalia event.
4) Collect and donate Aluminum cans and Plastic containers to the event. Call for early pick up or for recycling site. Otherwise they can be donated on site, the day of walk, July 12th.
5) You can also register the day of the event. Registration opens at 8:00 AM. Please bring all donations payable to CCFA. If you could have it all ready to be turned in, that would help with the process during check in.
Any member that raises $100 or more will get a Event T - Shirt free the day of the event.
Once signed up, the LA Chapter will send you your starter kit. Money can be donated on line. Or your starter kit will have envelopes in it to collect donations and mail back. You can also turn in the day of the event. Please arrive early to do so.
