Swim F.A.S.T. 2011 - Alcatraz Swim

On April 16th I am going to "Escape from Alcatraz" and swim 1.5 miles from Alcatraz to San Francisco Aquatic Park. I am doing this to raise money for The Foundation for Aquatic Safety, which promotes water safety and drowning prevention. Your contribution can help provide swimming lessons to kids who would not otherwise be able to afford it. I hope you can help. Thanks! Maddy (OH MY GOSH!! I reached my goal of $500 on the first day! Thanks to everyone! Since I reached this goal so quickly, I've changed it to $1000. A reminder that all funds are going to FAST.)

FAST taps the talents and strengths of competitive swimmers for two purposes: (1) to organize and implement water safety events at Arizona schools and pools, and (2) to serve as teachers of swimming skills for groups of high-risk children.

Each donation goes directly to outreach, water safety and swimming lessons for high-risk groups without access to such support. In other words, each dollar is an investment in drowning prevention for the children of Arizona.
