Recovering Freedom Through Adaptive Sports!
For the past three years, the Adaptive Sports Foundation in partnership with Disabled Sports USA, the Wounded Warrior Project and the Fire Department of New York has been offering programs to United States servicemen and women who have been permanently injured in the Global War on Terrorism. To date we have served over 70 soldiers and Marines whose disabilities range from amputation, nerve damage and spinal cord injuries. These special events are powerful reminders of not only the cost of our freedoms but the special bonds that can be forged through giving back.

We have brought over 40 servicemen and women to Windham Mountain for a three day ski and snowboard vacation as well as supported Disabled Sports USA at their Adaptive Waterski Festival in Brooklyn, New York. Each event is completely funded through the private sector. It costs approximately $1,500 to bring one soldier or Marine to these events.

We have committed to bringing 30 servicemen and women again to Windham for the 2007 Support Our Troops event on January 18th-21st. We will need approximately $45,000 to make sure all 30 soldiers and Marines are able to come from rehabilitation programs from either Walter Reed Army Medical Center or Brooke Army Medical Center.

Please help us to continue to give back to these young men and women who have scarified so much for our country and freedoms. Donate to our Support Our Troops Project.
