Hi, our names are Winnie Tsai and Parris Fozouni. We believe cancer can be cured and we are asking you to join us in this ambitious campaign. We are raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man, Woman, and Teen of the Year. This is an annual philanthropic competition, which benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and its mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
We are campaigning to be the Teens of the Year. Every dollar we raise is a vote for us and is a vote for our belief that we can cure cancer. Every dollar will go straight to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the world’s largest private organization concerned solely with funding research toward cures for blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is funding research for cures, helping patients understand the disease and how they can best fight it. This is an organization that is doing the right things with the dollars it raises, and we hope that you will join us in our race for the cure.
Why should you donate towards this cause? These are the facts:
• An estimated 823,400 Americans are living with blood cancers
• Every 5 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer
• Every 10 minutes someone dies from blood cancer
• Leukemia causes 21,000 American deaths every year
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is honoring two very brave children this year: 5 year-old Joey Raimondo and 3 year-old Eleanor Champlin-Wilson. Joey was diagnosed with leukemia two years ago and is currently in remission after five grueling rounds of chemotherapy, long hospital stays, and countless blood tests. Even after going through such grueling treatments, Joey is a cheerful boy who enjoys his superheroes and Spongebob as much as anyone else. Eleanor is currently receiving home chemo and monthly high dose treatments at the hospital after being diagnosed with leukemia last March. Thanks to medical advancements, due to generous donations, she will attend pre-school next fall.
