| The Campaign: Welcome to the Sponsor-A-Student Campaign for the Class of 2013! On November 1st, 31 outstanding fellows were inducted into the US Empowered fellowship. US Empowered is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the necessary resources and support to ambitious high school students in Chicago's lowest income schools, making their dreams of a college degree a reality.
The Class of 2013: Each of the students you are about to meet has been hand selected by the US Empowered Program Directors who teach at our partner schools. These students have displayed the qualities that we look for in candidates: ambition, resilience, professionalism, integrity and resourcefulness. Though they are a diverse group with Grade Point Averages that span a wide range, each exhibits these key leadership characteristics -- which ensures that, with your donation and the support of US Empowered, they will excel in four-year college. In fact, every student that has come through our program has been admitted to a four-year university, a staggering accomplishment given the 18% college matriculation rate of incoming freshmen at Chicago Public Schools.
