| Special Olympics of Northern California empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics often is the only place where they have an opportunity to participate in their communities and develop belief in themselves. Many live lives of neglect and isolation, hidden away or socially excluded from full participation in schools or society. Transforming the athlete, Special Olympics sports are a gateway to empowerment, competence, acceptance and joy.
Rock N' Run 13.1 is a half marathon/training fundraising program. Participants receive a FREE half marathon training program in return for committing to raise $100 per mile ($1300) during the course of their training (7/28/09-10/4/09).
