| SIS in the City - Sensational In Survival |
|
Andrea Caruso was training for the 2004 New York City Marathon when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She did not take her doctor’s advice to stop running while undergoing chemotherapy. She explains, “I knew running the marathon with a heart full of gratitude for being alive would be the best treatment of all.”
As a nurse, Andrea felt the financial pressure of being out of work during treatment. Andrea created Sensational In Survival (SIS) to be the sister to other women struggling that Andrea's sister was to her. Her sister Lynne paid her mortgage for four months so Andrea could focus on getting healthy.
- SIS "runs" to the rescue of women in financial straits due to breast cancer.
- Your donation will directly affect a woman in the fight of her life.
It is Andrea's 6th consecutive NYC Marathon and she says, " People had better jump on the SIS Support Team ASAP, as this old body only has so many marathons left in it!! |
