| Join us on Sunday, June 29th at the 1st Annual Brain Aneurysm Awareness 5K Walk to celebrate Sheryl Baker's survival, recovery and life at the Silverdale Waterfront Park. Help Sheryl fulfill her dream and mission- to raise brain aneurysm awareness.
Determined, passionate, genuine, loyal…these are all words that could be used to describe Sheryl Baker. However, the most appropriate is quite simply friend because these words are the definition of a great friend. Sheryl will do anything and everything she can to help others, sometimes going above and beyond the call of duty to help a complete stranger. She does this not because it’s “the right thing to do” or because she’s obligated to, but because that is who she is.
Sheryl, along with her husband Rick, has helped to raise awareness for brain aneurysms in any way they can. Unaware that she was afflicted with brain aneurysms, Sheryl passed out while on vacation in May 2007. She was rushed to the hospital and soon thereafter diagnosed with three brain aneurysms. The doctors moved quickly and Sheryl underwent surgery to have all three coiled. Recovery has been a long process, but Sheryl has never given up and continues to bring joy to all of those around her.
We are asking that you come out and support Sheryl on June 29, 2008. We will be gathering at the Silverdale Waterfront Park and head out on a 5K Walk for Awareness! Just as Sheryl educates people everyday through the retelling of her experience with brain aneurysms, we will be educating the people of Kitsap County with fact-filled banners that will be held throughout the walk.
If you can’t join in on the walk, please feel free to come down to the park and make a donation. We will have displays with information about brain aneurysms and brochures for you to take home.
We hope to see you at the Silverdale Waterfront Park on June 29, 2008!
