Who: Shady Katie’s Pub and Patio & The Tug McGraw Foundation
What: Join Scott Palmer of the Philadelphia Phillies for an afternoon of shear madness as he and other special guests (to be announced) shave their heads and sign autographs to raise funds for The Tug McGraw Foundation.
Where: Shady Katie's Pub and Patio, 814 South White Horse Pike, Somerdale, NJ 08083
When: Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 12:00-6:00 p.m. Admission is free. A 50/50 raffle and silent auction will include Phillies and Tim McGraw memorabilia and experiences.
Why: Shear Strength is a benefit to raise funds to accelerate new treatments and cures to improve quality of life for children and adults affected by debilitating neuroscience conditions such as brain cancer, traumatic brain injury and posttraumatic stress disorder. Recognizing that other areas of brain research inform the science surrounding brain cancer, The Tug McGraw Foundation has widened its scope to address the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual impact of neuroscience conditions. The Tug McGraw Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 2003 by Tug McGraw.
How Can I Get Involved: Commit to a “shear” or “cut” and start your own fundraising page. To setup your page, contact Genvieve Goldstein at genvieve@tugmcgraw.org. If you cannot join us for the event, consider making a contribution to the Shear Strength Team in memory of Tug McGraw and Dennis McDowell below. There will be prizes for the top fundraising team and individual. To learn more visit www.tugmcgraw.org or www.shadykaties.com.
