| On March 16, 2001, Shawn, at the young age of 19, was tragically killed in an automobile accident. Shawn had a great passion for the ocean and spent much of his time off the coast of Scituate, fishing, lobstering and mossing. He was a freshman at Massachusetts Maritime Academy and touched many people's lives during his short time here on earth. He will always live on in our hearts. We would like to honor Shawn's memory by continuing the Shawn D. Patterson Scholarship Fund to benefit graduating young men and women from Scituate High School.
