Skin Cancer is Preventable! SHADE Foundation wants everyone to know that through safe sun habits and regular skin exams that skin cancer is mostly preventable. Sun safety begins at a young age, when habits are still forming. Make applying sunscreen or sunblock a regular part of you and your children's routine - just like brushing your teeth. Get to know your own skin. Do a monthly skin cancer self exam and then let your doctor know of any changes. You can learn more about how to do a self skin exam by clicking on this link. Sponsoring my Boston Marathon Run for SHADE will help deliver this important self exam video to thousands of people. Thank you and don't forget to Limit the Sun - Not the Fun!

Alfred Cenedella $100.00 "Dear Shonda: My family has a melanoma survivor in it; my sister's husband, Peter Trotta of Mendon. Pete has been through surgery and chemotherapy at Dana Farber that has left his cancer in remission, thank God, and my sister is so thankful that I thought this was an appropriate cause for my donation. You are running with inspiration of and for many cancer survivors out here ... and many Sox fans of your husband. "

I ran in 2004 for the American Liver Foundation (88 degrees...ugh!) at a 10 min./mile pace, and I know what a great feeling it is to finish on Boylston St.! I am a Concord, MA raised Sox fan, and the husband of a wonderful woman (my beautiful wife Jacky), who had melanoma, and so far -- no recurrence. I am happy to support your charity, and look forward to someday meeting you and Curt! I am going to likely run for the ALF New England Chapter team again, and will likely run either Chicago or NYC this Fall. Wish me luck in training (starts in a couple weeks!). Sincerely, Chris Broyles and Jacky Woods."
Shawn Rutledge $10.00 "Just keep helping as many people as possible!!!"
