Seattle 100 Delivers $65,000 for The NephCure Foundation

The 7th Annual Seattle 100 collected $65,000 in donations for the The NephCure Foundation on July 25, 2009. Held at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA, and hosted by 2Fast Motorcycle Track Days & Instruction, the Seattle 100 is a unique fundraiser for motorcycle enthusiasts. The event joined recreational motorcyclists with racing professionals Josh Hayes of Team Yamaha, Jake Holden of Corona Honda, Elena Myers of Kawasaki and Danny Eslick of Geico Buell. Modeled around a track day format, the VIP Racers were introduced in rock star-like fashion, and guests and riders alike were able to meet and ride with them on the track.

Recurring Seattle 100 attendee Josh Hayes was excited to be back again for 2009 "I look forward to this event each year. As racers, we are either racing or testing, and this is one of the few times we get to play around and have a great time...plus support a great cause like The NephCure Foundation!"

Mark DeGross, owner of 2-Fast LLC, is credited as the major organizer of the event. Mark’s friend, Brian Orton, is NephCure’s co-founder and father of patient Christian Orton, who was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome when he was only 10 months old. Christian has been in remission for nine years, and he along with thousands of other patients continue to seek knowledge concerning the disease’s cause and cure.

Over the last seven years, Seattle 100 riders have raised over $500,000 for Nephcure, which supports research to find a cure for Nephrotic Syndrome and a related disease, FSGS.

Your continued support is encouraged so that we can keep the doctors in the lab.
