| John D. Hawkins - or J.D. as he was more commonly known - was an incredibly talented actor and science educator. During the seven years that J.D. was with the museum, he energized and inspired children and adults alike with his passion, knowledge, and creativity. Though he is no longer with us, his commitment to enagaging all students with entertaining educational experiences lives on through the generosity of individuals such as yourself. Through the John D. Hawkins Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Museum is able to offer quality education programs, including Duke TIP Academic Adventures and Discovery Camps, to all children, regardless of ability to pay, through need-based scholarships.
