Raising money to fund childhood cancer research
The Porters and the Carters together this Fourth of July 2011 at Bethany Beach.

I have decided to run the Disney Half Marathon January 7, 2012 to help raise money and bring awareness to the need for pediatric cancer research. I would like to raise a minimum of $1500 for the Scott Carter Foundation.

Scott believed that if enough time, energy and money were devoted to children’s cancer research, a cure could be found for this dreaded disease, the number one disease killer of children today in the United States. The Scott Carter Foundation was formed to raise money to further Scott’s dream of finding that cure!

I have always wanted to run a milestone race and have never had the courage to do so. I have now watched all of my close friends run various Marathons, Half’s, and other long distances. It is something I want to do and cannot think of a single better cause or motivation than Scott. The Carters are like family to me and I am privileged to run for the Foundation.

I know in these tough economic times charitable gifts are at a premium. Please consider donating even $5 dollars if you are able. All donations are tax deductable. The Scott Carter Foundation is an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Total Donations Collected:$1,955.00
Goal: $1,500
$0 130% $1,500
Goal
Scott Carter was a 13-year old boy who died in December of 1993 after a courageous three-year battle with bone cancer. Funds raised will be used for cancer research, in hopes of one day making Scott's dream of finding a cure for cancer a reality.
