Jeff's Team Challenge Half-Marathon Adventure!

Remembering Brian and Finding a Cure

I'm not much of a runner. In fact, I hate it... so I decided to run a half-marathon! I am running with Team Challenge, a fundraising program for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). I will be running the night of December 2nd on the Las Vegas Strip.

Some of you may know that my brother Brian died in January of 2010 leaving behind his wife and two kids. Brian had suffered for over 15 years with Ulcerative Colitis and later Crohn's disease. He always loved life and used his time and energy to serve others.

I am running this race to remember and honor Brian. I will be raising money for CCFA to help find a cure and improve the lives of others suffering from this debilitating disease. In remembering and celebrating the 36 years Brian was with us, my goal is to raise $3,600.

Our daughter, like you, raised funds for CCFA by bicycling across the US. She wanted to support her sister and raise funds for this painful and dibilitating disease. Perhaps we'll never have a cure but in the meantime, other than research, CCFA sends kids to camp for free. A week that these kids (and parents) can feel confidant that they'll be taken care of by a volunteer team of doctors and nurses (which includes our daughterand son in law) and just have fun!"
