| Hello Everyone! I'm actually doing it - I'm running the ROCK 'N ROLL SAN ANTONIO HALF MARATHON on November 16, 2008. First of all thank you for coming to my page... my new job in Washington, D.C. is with the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. Specifically it is my duty to recruit team members to participate in our Team Challenge program and I figure if they can be asked to raise these funds and train for 16 weeks for a half marathon, than I have to do it too! I appreciate any support you can provide as I take on this exciting challenge! 1.4 million Americans are currently affected by Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. These diseases currently have no cure and can be very painful and unpredictable. They are also rarely publicly discussed and therefore awareness of what these diseases entail is quite low. Both Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are inflammatory bowel diseases.
UPDATE: I am now running at least 5 miles 4 days a week with an easy 2 mile day once a week! These are my last 3 weeks of training before the big day! I have a slight IT band injury, but after some extra resting am feeling much better! I can't wait to cross the finish line in San Antonio!!! (update 10/27/08)
Help me raise funds for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundations mission: to find a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life for those adults and children already affected by these digestive diseases.
