| The Pierce County Commission Against Domestic Violence is a community action organization committed to justice, accountability and safety through collaboration, education, and prevention of domestic violence. CADV will use funds raised through Run Like a Girl! to implement a public health campaign to promote healthy relationships and positive gender roles for men and women through social marketing and special educational events. May 8th, the day before Mother's day and the title Run Like a Girl! were deliberately chosen to challenge gender stereotypes and to reframe "anti-violence campaigns" into "creating healthy relationship campaigns." We envision our male and female supporters and community partners in health care, education, law enforcement, teen program, and faith communities coming out to support healthy families in Pierce County. This event will honor mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, and the men who love them. This event will bring health, hope and happiness to the families of Pierce County.
