| Cure for ALS - Run for Life 5K |
|
| ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) can strike anyone. Without warning it happens to 15 people each day in the United States. The average life expectancy is only two to five years from the time of diagnosis. ALS slowly takes away the ability to move, speak, swallow, and ultimately breathe. By supporting the Run for Life 5K you are helping to advance medical research at the Emory ALS Center to find a cure.
The Run for Life 5K – A Race to End Lou Gehrig’s Disease has raised nearly $18,000 in the past two years. The 3rd Annual event will take place on May 2, 2009. This event was founded to honor Jonathan Blais, the only person with ALS to finish an Ironman triathlon. We host the event each year in tribute to PALS (persons with ALS), their families and caregivers, and the researchers who one day will discover a cure. By supporting this event you are contributing to that eventual cure.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
The Duffy Family - Mike, Karen, Brian, and Kevin |
