Roll For A Cure
What started as an idea to raise funds for a great organization turned into one of the most rewarding and fun experiences we have shared and we would like to invite you to join forces with us at our next one!
We held the first Roll For A Cure (RFAC) in May of 2007 in an exhibition game and we raised funds for Breast Cancer Angels, a local non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization that financially assists women (and men) in treatment for breast cancer. They provide food certificates, offer rental and utility assistance and help with medical co-pays.
We asked our league to donate and then asked friends and family to do the same.
We had gifts of that really added up plus great raffle prizes from our sponsors and everyone that attending received gifts.
From the booby cupcakes and custom key chains to pink ribbon dog tags and spa packages everyone attending had fun.
This year we are expanding the event to two days (May 10 & May 11 2008) and have partnered with several top Roller Derby eagues to participate with us.
There will be skaters visiting from CA but also from Minnesota, Houston, Bay Area and Portland.
We are hosting this event in our new home in Corona, CA and want you to be a part of it! Let us know how you want to be involved or we have lots of ideas!
