Ride with Me for Autism 2012
A great ride for a great cause!
Riding with ME

Jessica Green was a vibrant young woman with Asperger's Syndrome/High Functioning Autism who passed away December, 2007. She never gave up and always believed there would be better days ahead. Never would she allow her Autism to stand in the way of inspiring others and helping them reach their goals while trying to reach her own. Ride with Me is in honor of Jessica who was very athletic, cycling for hours every day and unknowingly, named her own ride when she would ask neighbors to “ride with me.”

Autism is a neurological disorder that is quickly becoming an epidemic in the United States. Over the past 10 years, the number of families affected by Autism has quadrupled. It was mentioned in October, 2009, on MSNBC as BREAKING NEWS through the American Academy of Pediatrics and through The Autism Society of America that there has been an increase in Autism. The statistics are now 1 in 91 children instead as compared to the 1 in 150 children being affected with Autism in 2007. Tragically, roughly one percent of American children are now affected by one of the conditions in the Autism Spectrum. The Autism Society of America estimates that the life time cost of caring for an Autistic child will range from $3.5 to $5 million, and the United States is currently facing almost $90 billion annually in costs for Autism. This figure includes research, insurance premiums and non-covered medical expenses, such as Medicaid waivers for Autism, education spending, housing, transportation, employment, in addition to related therapeutic services and care giver costs.

The effect of these expenses is egregiously overwhelming for the families who need to obtain early intervention services and on-going support and services for their children throughout their life span.

The Jessica Green Foundation’s mission is to provide HOPE for better days to families and individuals by giving assistance and support to help the families obtain the services needed for their loved one(s) struggling with this devastating neurological disorder.

Your tax deductible donation to the Jessica Green Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charity non-profit organization is greatly appreciated.
