| Each year for the last 10 years, I have taken a bike trip to Moab, Utah to indulge in great rides and great times with friends. While this is a good cause (!), I am compelled to redirect myself this year to a different and greater cause - Semper Fi - helping injured marines and their families whose lives have been affected by preserving my (and your) freedoms. I will be riding from Phoenix, AZ to San Diego, CA with 29 other people over the course of 4 days as we all raise money for this great cause.
I watched a friend do this last year and I was moved by the cause and by the commitment of the riders to do something like this. I wanted to be a part of it. I wanted take a hobby and let it be used in a small way to help others.
I need your help! I will do the training and the pedaling. But I need to raise $1800 from my friends and acquaintances.
Established in May 2004, the Injured
Marine Semper Fi Fund is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that has provided over 13,500 grants totaling over $29 million in assistance to our Nation's wounded heroes and families. Since its inception, they have consistently maintained their program expenses at 92%, or above, and our fundraising expenses have averaged just 2 cents per dollar raised.
To learn more and see how they are helping to change lives for the better, go to their website at http://www.semperfifund.org/
I hope you can help me a part of this worthy cause! I won't ride until October, BUT I NEED YOUR DONATION NOW!!! |
