| What is"The Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund"? When a soldier is wounded on the battlefield, the government provides care for that soldier in all ways you might think of. Unfortunately, there are many expenses that you might not think of and there is a gap left for the wounded soldier and their families. Many times the soldier's spouse or close family members are unable to work while they assist with everyday care and rehabilitation. Many soldiers suffer from emotional trauma that have long lasting effects. The Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund provides money for living expenses, groceries, transportation, wheel chair ramps and other specialized equipment. For many of our wounded heroes, The Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund will mean the difference between a normal life and a life of convalescence.
This is what our ride is all about. Supporting those who have provided unquestioning protection for us. This is where you come in. I am on a quest for 50 friends and family who will sponsor my ride at $100 each. I would like my personal effort to raise $5000. I know that $100 is not realistic for everyone. Any amount of support you can provide will go a long way to help an injured soldier trying to get his or her life back. Even $10 or $20. If you cannot help with money you can help by passing the message along to others who might feel passionate about our cause.
Myself and this group will be riding our bicycles from Scottsdale, AZ to the Wounded Warriors Center in Oceanside,CA (430+ miles) to hand deliver the funds we have raised.
When you choose where to go to dinner, what movie to see, what career you want, where to go on vacation, who to vote for or which church to go to, you are enjoying freedoms protected by soldiers. Take one night out to dinner and the movies and give it to a soldier who was willing to sacrifice everything.
If you give a little, I'll ride a lot! Thanks for your support. |
